MAGGOMEDIA is committed to respecting and protecting individuals’ privacy rights and complying with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited, to the obligations imposed under the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) rules effective on July 1, 2013.

MAGGOMEDIA, as a matter of policy, does not knowingly collect any personal information of children under the age of 13.  In the event MAGGOMEDIA becomes aware that personal information of children under the age of 13 has been inadvertently collected, said information is immediately deleted from its database.

The COPPA rules effective on July 1, 2013, as amended, apply to:

  1. operators of websites and mobile apps that are directed at children under 13 that collect, use or disclose personal information from children or
  2. to operators that have actual knowledge that they are collecting personal information from users of sites or apps directed to children.

The legal obligation requiring that parental consent be granted before collecting personal information from children has been expanded, under the rules, to include persistent identifiers that enable operators and third parties to recognize users.

In compliance with COPPA rules effective July 1, 2013, as amended, MAGGOMEDIA represents that it does not collect and/ or use information obtained from children’s focused sites for behavioral advertising (commonly referred to as interest based advertising) and that it only uses data in the manner prescribed under the strictures of COPPA.

In order to continue to comply with the mandates of COPPA, MAGGOMEDIA requires that all new and/or existing publishers promptly notifies MAGGOMEDIA of any sites or app accounts that are directed at children.
